1.Why do I need to book a composition or piece that I want to record?
The project is to ensure that all of Gurudev’s works get converted to Audio. The booking system is to ensure that multiple people are not recording the same piece yet some others do not get attempted at all. It also helps us to reach out to members who have expressed interest to record a piece which was booked by someone else but has not been able to complete the submission within the committed time.
2. Who sets the committed time / deadline for a piece to be recorded?
The member who books a piece needs to commit a “Will be Submitted by Date” at the time of booking a complete or part of a large piece. If the entire recording is not completed within the committed time it will then be open for others to contribute to.
3. Why cant I find a piece I am looking for
There can be many reasons. The spelling, inaccurate title, our database - any or all of these can contribute to this. Please send us a mail with the Subject : Cannot Find “this”, where “this” is the title of the piece you are looking for and our volunteer team will get back to you with specific links.
4. We want to contribute as a group. How can we do that?
Plays, Musicals and large novels lend themselves to group contribution. We do not yet have a way to register groups. But do send us a mail with Subject : Want to book “this” for a group contribution, where “this” is the title of the piece. Please ensure that all the members who will contribute have individually signed up as a contributor by completing the profile. We will then book the composition/piece against the person who has sent in the request on behalf of the group. Do not forget to include your phone number and the best time to get in touch with you or your colleagues. We will soon roll out registration process from groups and at that time you will be able to book a piece as a group directly. This is expected to be ready by next quarter.
5. Can we submit existing recordings?
Yes. Please upload the same against appropriate pieces after first booking the same.
6. Will we be paid?
No. The Tagore Project is a Not for Profit initiative and all contributions are voluntary and under perpetual Creative Commons License. This means anyone anywhere will be able to use these recordings for non commercial use after giving due credit to The Tagore Project and the contributor.

7. Some pieces are very large. Can we submit abridged versions?
Our first objectives to have the recordings of complete pieces as written by Tagore. We will accept abridged versions if you or your group takes up the recording of the entire piece within a given timeframe through the usual booking process. You can write to us about such submissions and we will send you appropriate process document for submissions. Do not forget to include your phone number and the best time to get in touch with you or your colleagues.See point 4. above for details related to group submissions.
8. I have some rare interviews but not about the pieces - would you be interested?
Yes. Please send us details and we will get in touch with you. Do not forget to include your phone number and the best time to get in touch with you or your colleagues.
9. I have a video. Can you extract the audio from it?
Yes. If you let us know which piece it is for and the time code details for extraction we can do that. Please write to us after booking a piece against which you intend to submit the same. Do not forget to include your phone number and the best time to get in touch with you or your colleagues.
